Hello Cathie, As a volunteer working with those affected by Alzheimer's, I was interested in hearing your message. Sharing your personal journey with your mother is inspiring. The path you took in allowing your mother to lead the conversation adds a new dimension in how to effectively communicate with those affected by this dsease. You have a wonderful gift in the way you presented your story and I am thankful that I was in attendance at the University of Waterloo to hear it.

Cathie - I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you during your visit to MAREP at the University of Waterloo. The story told, of you and your mother's journey through Alzheimer's - the Long Hello - was moving, emotional and most inspiring. Your lesson of "following, while your mother lead" will enrich many relationships faced with this disease. We can, and all will, learn from your personal journey. Thank you for sharing it.

I really would like to read your book. My mom is in the moderate stages of early onset Alzheimer's. It has been a heart breaking experience, that I hope to find joy in your words..

Cathie, the performance of your memoir in Buffalo was so moving and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey with your Mother; rays of light on another dimension shine through in an incredible way. We have much to learn and your mother with her poignant words can be one of our teachers. Thank you and I look so forward to reading your book. Let us keep in touch, Blessings, Christine

Hi Cathie, I found you on Facebook - Alzheimer's. You have a beautiful website, and an amazing way of portraying Alzheimer's, particularly the wisdom that shines through the memory loss in all its unique forms. I am a social worker who has worked with individuals with memory loss and their family members, and now have my own business creating life history books to help those with memory loss to remain connected to their history as much, and as long, as possible. Please visit me - www.explorebeautifullife.com Kudos to you for your beautiful work! -Kiessa

Dear Cathie, I heard your moving presentation at the SAH Conference, Buffalo NY. In such a world we live in today, we are so blinded by technology that we forget the impact of love, grace and kindness. Non judgmental listening to one another is the best gift of all and no amount of technology can ever replace that. Hearing your presentation validates what I do with people diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's disease: listen respectfully, share stories and see the world through another's eyes. We must persist in providing safe, respectful and enriching environments for our aging populations. Your manuscript must be published as it would be of great value to those in healthcare and the public at large. On a personal note, my Mother who died seven months ago, was diagnosed with dementia. Attending your presentation gave me an opportunity to cry and yet to celebrate the indomitable human spirit. Darlene McPherson B.Ed. Visual Artist St. Boniface Hospital
