Hi Cathie, This is the guy from behind the window in Soho. It was pleasure to meet you and I have to say that this is a very impressive web site. I hope Vancouver is not as cold as New York right now.Anyway, this is my website : Bluntfocus.com Unfortunately I do not have photos of cats but quite a few of dogs from my Brooklyn dog run. Enjoy your holidays out west. Igor.

I have not only read Cathie Borrie's extraordinary memoir, The Other Side of Here, but I have also quoted parts of it to the students in my spring 2006 Love and Loss course at the University at Albany. I also quoted a passage from Cathie's memoir in my new book, Death in the Classroom: Writing about Love and Loss (SUNY Press). Cathie has the rare gift of transmuting suffering into art. Anyone who reads The Other Side of Here will be moved profoundly by its lyrical beauty, its sudden flashes of insight and wit, and its loving depiction of the mother-daughter relationship. Cathie, What a beautiful website. You are an inspiration!! I love the passion that shines through the work. You are brimming with ideas and imagination. My father died of Alzheimer's in 1986 --at that time it would have never occurred to me to look for art in his disease. Thank you for such a fresh perspective for my memories.

Salt air, rolling seas and the crash of waves on the beach at Anthony Island capture the effusive spirit of this lady. Keep writing and creating.

I sincerely hope that everyone who visits your website, or meets you, or hears about you, gets a chance to read your beautiful, haunting, funny, poignant story. As a bookstore owner, I see soooooo many words every day and I can tell you, without a doubt, that your writing is of the highest quality... it embodies one of my all-time favourite quotes: "If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea." (Antoine de Saint-Exupery) So to you and Bird, two of the most amazing people I've ever met, I send wonderful wishes for all good things..... and I look forward to seeing you on the bestseller lists!!

Bird Dog, you are a talented and clever creature! We were so lucky to have met you and everyone else on our Haida Gwaii adventure. Even now I often find myself thinking about the fun we had exploring. The new web site is fabulous, I am discovering how much more there is to know about you. I am looking forward to it, you are an inspiration.
